My Background
As a professionally qualified counsellor and hypnotherapist, I work both within my private practice and Further Education. I have lectured in Counselling and am a qualified trainer offering short courses to business and industry.

I am also a Relate Licensed Counsellor which involves me working with both couples and individuals from my home in Tickhill.
Working for Cruse
In this role my aim is to enable anyone bereaved to understand their grief, cope with their loss and to explore ways in which they can move forward positively with their life.

Professional Values and Beliefs
I consider my theoretical stance to be eclectic. My approach also draws on psychodynamic systemic and cognitive behavioural models. As a counsellor I offer my clients clear professional boundaries, a safe non-judgemental environment, confidentiality as well as the core conditions of empathy, genuineness and warmth. I believe these to be the basic requirements of any counselling relationship.
My aim throughout the counselling process is to enable my clients to gain greater self-awareness and understanding and in so doing empower them to go on to make any changes they may wish. I feel that the counselling journey is a partnership between counsellor and client and that the client shares the responsibility for their own development.
